My TT 300zx is burning up the water and blowing steam from one exhoust only, she makes a loud howling noise from the same side under boost, i ran a compression test and that is all good. can it be a head gasket or a turbo??????? Barry

Re: z32 water prob's help please
how could it be the head gasket if he compression tested it and it passed?
symptoms sound like the hg but if he comp tested it...... Are the turbos water cooled? What about the intake gaskets? does coolant flow through the intake? A comp test should reveal a blown head gasket.... let me rephrase that a compression test when properly done WOULD reveal a blown head gasket.... unless the z32 defy the laws of physics....(no not just because you smoked a mustang like he was sitting still either that doesnt count...) Read carefully he stated that he compresion tested.. |

Re: z32 water prob's help please
Cheers guys.- As above there is only really one way to compression test, and yes I did it properly - the same way I have tested a hundred other motors - and yes it was all good.. Pulled the head anyway and found patch with half a dozen little pin holes in the gasket, which was obviously not enough to leak compression but was just enough to suck a bit of water through.. Replaced it and she's all good now, no steam. :o)
