Re: Good way to get more torque

Yeah, but you'll notice a bigger benefit on a more powerful car.

Re: Good way to get more torque

Why do you need more tq than what you get from basic bolt ons? The RSX being a pretty light car you shouldn't need that much tq to get you going plus the mid to high end power of the RSX should take over pretty easily to where you shouldn't need the tq. I don't know how much tq the stock axles, differential and other things of that matter can take on a RSX and if you have too much then you are looking at needing new stuff.

If you want something for good low end power I would go with the S/C. This is coming from a VW VR6 driver who has plenty of tq to spare and a nice amount of hp with just bolt ons but

I myself have raced some Hondas/Acuras that have beat me by about half a car length b/c they caught up to me in the top end. I guess what I was trying to say with that comment was that if you have enough tq to get you going decently and you have a lot better hp then it doesn't really matter. I could be wrong.

Re: Good way to get more torque

Only talking from a straight-line perspective:

Depends on if you're racing from a roll or from a stop. Eg. A WRX will beat an RSX from a stop handily, an RSX will beat both an EVO and a WRX from a roll.

Re: Good way to get more torque

Hmmmm do they make eaton super chargers for the RSX b/c if it's a vortec you don't get that low end pull like GTP's and Mercedes get b/c they are eatons and the ones I've seen for most cars sold are Vortecs. I could be wrong though. The Vortecs make a gradual boost the farther up you go in the rpm band.

Re: Good way to get more torque

Some turbo cars get great low end torque, the VR4 gets all of its 315lb/ft at 2500. Whats the gearing like on the RSX? Whats the top theoretical speed?

Re: Good way to get more torque

I mean what it's top gear and stock tires/wheels allow at redline, regardless of power.

Re: Good way to get more torque

It can, given enough time and space the RSX will.
