The Ford Excursion will roll off the assembly line in Kentucky in September of this year. The last orders will be taken within the next couple months.

Dougger:
Thanks for the info. We own 4 fords and 1 jeep. one is a 76 F-100, 87 Econoline250, 96 F-250 Turbo Diesel and a 97 ford Aerostar. My mom has been planning on finding something similar in size to her extended aerostar but all she found was the Yukon XL. She did the test drive and didnt like it. So now she has her eyes set on an Excursion diesel. My dads diesel truck gets about 15MPG and its a 7.3 with a 6IN lift. I myself am thinking of purchasing a diesel truck from ford. So I've been reading the posts about the gas mileage and the ecoweenies. Who cares if you drive a truck that is either powered by diesel or fuel. Are they paying for it ? I believe not, we pay for the fuel and diesel. Thats why we live in the greatest country were we have freedom to buy a small compact car or a large SUV/TRUCK. Thank you. |

Re: Excursion Discontinued
BLAZT,
If your planning to buy a used Ford Powerstroke be leary of the 03 6.0's. If it were me looking for a used Powerstroke again I'd only stay with the tried and true good old 7.3. 99's are good years both the early and late version. 00's are the last year of the forged rods. 01's have the mechanic diode problem with the auto tranny and all Ford Powerstroke motors from this year on have powder coated rods.

I didn't know about the early ones having forged rods though. With an extended warrenty to 125k I'm not too worried. |

Re: Excursion Discontinued
This is a crime! If they lowered the price on it, it would sell like crazy. The excursion is better in alot of ways than some little econo box hatch back.
