For the money saved you can have one nice looking job if you follow the directions to the letter.

Lots of people are doing it.

Love Tremclad, stuff is awesome. Black gloss tramclad fixes all my body problems and you NEVER see it.

Re: $50 Paintjob....No joke.

I love it, Thanks BLT!

I think that I'll be painting the exterior of my 4 door rod like that. The interior is easier with the sprayer (which I do on my own)

If I like it I'll do my coupe the same way!

I painted my 63 ford pickup with Tremclad and it not only looked great, but also lasted a few years until I got rid of it.
I used a spray gun on it though

Re: $50 Paintjob....No joke.

That's pretty sweet. I'm gonna look for a junk hood or trunk to try it out on. My kid is looking for his first car and this might come in handy!!

Re: $50 Paintjob....No joke.

My 1 street rod is almost ready for paint, but it's the 1 that I want to be perfect.
After taking 30 bags of sandblaster sand I'd hate to have to do it again

I'm just pointing out that the guys plates are from Canada (BLT's province), so it's probably less south of the border

is this for real???????? i read his post, and it sounds legit, but i've never heard of this method, or this kind of paint. i would like to try it, as i have some uncovered damage from a hit and run on the front left, and i am putting on some body parts oem and aftermarket, and because of the florida sun and no garage, matching the factory paint is near impossible, and expensive. blazlt, is this for real???
thanks

Re: $50 Paintjob....No joke.

I'd bet on it working. In all reality the biggest difference it the time that it takes to do multi coats, your still doing all the same prep work and everything else.

he reason why it works is because he has the paint thin enough to self level (make it's self smooth) but not so thin that it runs

Re: $50 Paintjob....No joke.

That charger look better if it had a nice 01 on the door and if they were welded shut and a nice confederate flag up top with general Lee name badging.
