Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?

1996
4 cylinder (DX model)
197,871
Just the normal wear and tear. Got new belts, hoses, spark plugs. Has an oil leak that's been there for 3+ years but isn't bad. Power steering fluid leak. Muffler rusted at the front and slides and needs to be reattached/replaced. Brake sensor computer needs replacing. That's about it. Like I said, normal wear and tear.
Glad to see so many Passports still out there with lots of miles and still running fine! We got winners!

Year: 1997
Engine: V6
Mileage: 179,552
Any major problems: Nothing major ... just the brakes need to be changed.

I really came on automotive forums to ask if any one knew what the cover is called for the sunroof of a 1997 Honda Passport. I can't find one anywhere. Thanks!

Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?

Rodeo
year: 1993
3.2 V6
mileage: 298,000
1 owner Most recently replaced the spark plugs & wires & 2 coils + all of the hoses.
I have replaced the clutch twice & the shocks a few times too.
I love my rodeo and will drive it until it can go no more.
The stock tires, shocks, battery, plugs, wires & exhaust system was/is wonderful. I think I had it 6 years before replacing the battery. (once)
I changed the oil regularly (only Valvoline) until about a year ago. It leaks very little.
It ticks, but only gets louder when the fuel is low or I need to add oil.
The air conditioning is Cold!
only drawback are the door handles. The inside door handle from a rear passenger door came off in my hand, along with the ouside handle.
The rear tailgate is sensitive and won't open half the time! and the rear windshield wiper went crazy & I have since taken the fuse out, until it is necessary to replace.
I really 'wish' Isuzu would make a new Rodeo. I am about ready for a new one.

Any major problems: Had to replace the clutch after around 60K. Bought it at 50K. (used cars ) Had to replace the fan clutch at about 75K. Got the timing belt and water pump while I was at it. Electric EGR valve went bad at a price of $150. Rear suspension is very weak. Steering is really loose. Had to replace some dash lights. Can a brother get a second cup holder and rear speaker cabinets big enough for 6x9's?! How about 5x7's? My escort had bigger speakers.
Update: Still got it, but the Subaru is getting the lion share of the miles now. I'm up to around 155k. I'm having to replace the radiator due to the engine running hot enough to shut the A/C off. I had to replace the clutch again after the fins of the one I put on broke. I let professionals due it this time. I'm glad I did.

The steering was getting dangerously loose and I took it to the shop. They showed me where the adjustment was to tighten it back up a bit.

I bought some Skyjacker Hydro7000 shocks for roughly $30 a piece and the difference is night and day. Great shocks. The back is stronger than the front now.

I think the EGR needs replaced again, but I'm in no hurry. The radiator is more important. Still need a second cup holder. Bought some better speakers to replace the stock ones.

The rubber strip on the drivers side door started falling off. I eventually took it the rest of the way off and later on glued it back on with double sided tape. Be careful with that stuff. You get one shot to put it on straight. Might be a two person job.

Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?

1994 V6 4wd LS 191,500mi
Great vehicle other than the tick (mobil Delvac is my fixit).
Fixed:
Radiator, starter,CD player died under warranty,O2 sensor, only 1 front brake job at 191.5k miles. I got my money out of the brakes didn't I?
Currently on some Bridgestone HL Alenza tires with 50k+
Oh yeah, a 50' tree fell on it 9 years ago and I ended up with a full paint job,new windows, hood and roof.
It still looks great.

Re: How many miles do you have your Isuzu?

Well just bought my second Isuzu. My first was a 80's or early 90 trooper. A square box with a 4 cylinder. The ugliest red paint ya ever saw. I put so many miles on this poor little car. When I finally traded for a Doge PU if I remember right had at least 245000. And had only regular maintenance.
Well today I stopped and looked at a 1997 that had engine noise when you drove it. The car lot sold it to me for 2200. It has 133114 on it. Ya think I should tell the guy at the lot that it wasn't the engine ?? But it was the muffler baffle rattling inside the muffler. Other than the muffler it is a cherry ride. Though the black paint is fading it was well maintained. O and guess what.... No engine tick.
Ill keep ya guys posted.
