Looking good

I've been keeping my eye on these Dodge Magnums. My car is about ready to die, and I like the way these look. They look like they got a nice fell to them. Has anyobody ridden in one or driven one?

Re: Looking good

I haven't personally but my dad's friend drove one of the V-6's...he liked it a lot but he said it could use more power...HEMI.

You can get it with a HEMI though, right? I'm really getting interested in this car b/c of its looks. It looks like a new style of SUV that could catch on. What do you think?

I bought a Magnum SXT a few weeks ago and it is great. I opted for the SXT with the 3.5L V6 instead of the Hemi for fuel economy and less maintenance. The 3.5L V6 has good power. The car rides good and is very quiet on the inside. Sadly, I live in Canada and now that there is snow the Magnum is resting quietly in my garage until Spring. I want to keep it in mint condition.

Re: Looking good

That's too bad about the snow. I like the choice for fuel economy though. I'm hoping this style catches on as a new SUV type look. I think it looks amazing and would love to see more of these on the streets.

When did you get to drive one? How was it? I'm trying to get as much info as I can before I go out there and get one. Man, I think these cars are looking good.

Re: Looking good

About 2 months ago I stopped by my friendly Dodge Dealer. Drove the 250HP V6, had good power, very smooth, seating position great and very comfortable; with tilt/telescope steering could adjust steering to fit me just right. Plenty of headroom (I'm 6'4") and legroom, I had to move the seat forward some to reach the pedals. Handled very well, though didn't want the sales guy to get upset. Go take a drive, all it costs is time!

Re: Looking good

I haven’t seen ads but I looked at the site now and yes... hmmm it would be nice for them to tell us this. Before they start selling them... where do you live? I am in Texas that might be why we haven’t gotten them yet. Mmm AWD HEMI power that would be sweet...

Re: Looking good

I was surprised that you didn't know. I'm in Virginia near Richmond.....if it's like any other marketing scheme, they likely start in high density markets (NY, LA, DC) with new stuff. We're close enough to DC to get the same advertising I guess.

Hemi. AWD. Do I smell performance mods coming?

Re: Looking good

well Hennessey had a single turbo for the HEMI that made 500hp but it was 25G for the 75-100HP and I don’t think anyone got it.

Re: Looking good

That's a bit stout, almost doubles the price of the vehicle. Not in my range.

Of course, some rich guy will get it, after all (from "Mad Max"): "How fast you wanna go? All it is, is a matter of money!"
