the first step is buying/finding a multimeter, then you just set it to measure resistance and put the terminals on the wires coming from the box (make sure to disconnect them from the amp first). That's if you want to do it practically, if you want to do it theoretically then you need to find out the impedance and voice coil configuration of your subs and figure out how they're wired (series, series/series, series/parallel, parallel, parallel/parallel) and you can figure it out that way.
