Transmission/Engine Stall & Slip when Shifting into Drive
This is a 99 Base with the 4t65e and 85k. Anyone run into an engine stall and transmission delay when shifting into "Drive?" It happens after the car is warmed up but is intermittent.
The RPM's will drop to 500 or less and the car almost dies. The transmission will delay a second or so shifting into drive, and will do so with a jerk, especially if I have already begun to accelerate. I realize there could be numerous things to check, just wondering if anyone has had the same symptoms and could help pinpoint quicker. I'm thinking the ever failing PCS solenoid may be causing low line pressure. The 97 I have is on its 3rd one (60k, 140k). I recently had the plugs/wires and fuel filter replaced (after the problem first noticed). Could use a transmission fluid/filter change, but I did add a bottle of LubeGard Red. |

I am experiecing a similar problem, what part did you replace to fix it? And how much did it cost. My engine cuts out when I'm driving or idling sometimes, and during acceleration.

I doubt you will get any current feedback from nearly a three year old thread. It would be best to start a new thread and give the year of the car & current mileage. BTW, it sounds like you have a different problem from the OP.

Re: Transmission/Engine Stall & Slip when Shifting into Drive
Its definitely not a misfire, it would do it all the time. I posted previously that I'm not sure if the evap code would have a hand in it or its its a bad cam shaft position sensor or a bad crank position sensor.
