Re: park ave. no start!!!
What year? 3.8 engine? Supercharged?
Ok, car died....fuel pressure is ok.....you have spark on all 6 cylinders? Compression is ok.....are you getting injector pulse(you will need to attach a noid light to an injector harness)? Have you scanned for codes? Try disconnecting the MAF sensor and see if the vehicle starts.... Was the vehicle displaying ANY symptoms before dying? like a misfire? Lack of power? |

Re: park ave. no start!!!
Thats what I was thinking the injectors was not being informed to let the juices fly. When I pulled the plugs there was no sign of fuel. I thought the crankshaft positioning sensor was what commanded the injectors. No codes pulled I had car towed to my house. I need to invest in one. As for maf sensor. I havent tried that either. Although I did cleaned it.

Re: park ave. no start!!!
Oh and for any symptoms yes. When I was driving on highway I would catch at the corner of my eye all the lights flashing in the instrument panel and go away. But it seem not to affect the car. No super charge

Re: park ave. no start!!!
If you have a can of carb cleaner handy, have someone crank the car while you spray carb cleaner at the throttle plate...if car starts and runs as long as you spray, and fuel pressure is ok, then the injectors are not firing....
It's not the crank sensor, because you have spark.....It could be the ICM, the PCM, or the wiring in between them... |

Re: park ave. no start!!!
Im assuming I dont need to check ignition module since I have spark. But now I know it must ly within the pcm.

Re: park ave. no start!!!
The crank sensor creates a signal that is sent to the ICM....we know the ICM is receiving the signal because it is firing the coils......the ICM then creates a reference signal, that is sent to the PCM, which the PCM determines rpm from.....if there is rpm data on the scan tool, then the PCM is receiving the signal from the ICM......
Big backfire? You checked compression on ALL cylinders? could also be a timing issue.... |

I only checked only the front three cylinders. They read good.

Re: park ave. no start!!!
Well, a backfire usually occurs in the intake, when a plug is ignited before the intake valve is fully closed.....but you said compression was ok.....
Try starting with MAF disconnected? Check for injector pulse? |

Re: park ave. no start!!!
Injector pulse how do I check that. I know with a ohm meter but with key on .what ohms should I be reading. I do feel thats where my problem lies.
