Connectors for a Radio Antenna Module/2000 Buick Park Ave.
I've had problems with my rear defrost for several years, and just now getting to repair it. I found out the problem was the Radio Antenna Module, or RF modulator as I've also heard it called. The module has partially melted and the connectors are burnt and crispy. I have found the module that I need, but just need to replace the connectors that plug into it. I've found I can buy the whole harness, but it's fairly expensive. Just wondering if anyone knows what the type of connector is called? It's fairly simple, but I don't know what to ask for at the parts store. I'm hoping and praying that the new modulator I buy don't burn up like the last one. I've read quiet a few comments on this forum ( by the way that is how I found this forum) and also other forums, and it seems that this is quiet a common problem with this part. I'm hoping they've improved it since it was made. By the way I have a 2000 Park Ave. Base model.
I've tried to contact several suppliers to see if it's been improved, but no real answers yet. I read one person said they replaced theirs and it went out again in 6 months. The module GM Part # is 25623688. Thanks for any information you can give me./ Steve |
