$8k import: which is the best?
Hey, im getting a new car for my 18th birthday. my parents said that the most theyd spend is 8k on a new car. So, i know yall get this question alot, but what should I get?
I really want an import, i mean i love mustangs and camaro's and muscle cars, but, i want something that is easier maintenance with better gas milage, plus i love the slick sexy body lines of the jap. cars. Oh yeah and screaming up to 9000 rpms also comes with a really cool feeling. Anyway, i was wondering if yall could help me out. Im really kinda new to the import scene, so i need some help lookin for something that will terrorize all imports at my school. (a few civics with exhaust and intake), but also has the balls to hang with the big boys around town. I was looking for something sorta new, that can be made to be really fast, but also somethign that hasnt really been done too much. Also, has to be available in manual, and has to be a 2-door. There are a few Eclipse spyder GS-t's for sale, i havent heard too much about them. I've also found a 1991 3000gt VR-4 for 5400. Sounds kinda fishy to me, but it's such an awesome car...mmm awd, 320hp, twin-turbo...droool Um there are a few rx-7's for sale. what about them? They are the pre-93 cars, and are N/A. Um, also The integra is kinda nice, but i havent been able to find a GSR andywhere around here. I live in the hoiston area, so if anybody round here knows anything, let me know. ANy help yall can give is appreciated |

ok well terrorizin the other imports is all about how much $$ you got to mod.. cause even with that 91 vr-4.. which i love.. your still gonna get smoked by modded rice rockets..
i personally prefer an integra gsr out of the ones you mentioned.. 94 or 95...due to the ecu... but there is nothing wrong with the eclipse gst either.. or gsx for that matter.. but if it's terror you wanna wreak.. get a crx, and swap a b18c5 into it.. which will keep ya under the car price.. and nos the hell out of it.. and watch the cameros and stangs choke on a few hundred rpms of vtec.. but then again.. i'm a bit honda prone..

Stay away from older used sports cars unless you're going to have money for repair work. They are generally higher in maintenance costs. (since they were pricier cars to begin with). If the car has to last you awhile (like college) do the good old Civic route. You'll be better off for it.

Enough with the claims that you haven't been beaten by this or that car. Especially claiming an entire car company. To much variety out there for that.

i know there are fast hondas out there but the majority are just people who try to hard to make a slow car fast but dont succeed very well

i agree don't get me wrong in no way am i supporting all the stupid little civic dx owners who have springs and white lights and think they are fast.. all i'm saying is if they spent their money right and modded well you would have a problem smoking them.. but for the most part if i were you i would feel perfectly safe lining up with a honda.. lol..

yea thats what im saying but yea the majority of hondas arent that fast and other cars can be much faster for much cheaper. If you want my opinion on a fast cheap one id say 1g dsm turbo which is very cheap and easily modded.
