I bought an 89 4.3L w/52000, 6 years ago, the same week failed the OIL PUMP!!!, and the alternator,
year later, the steering pump, and water pump, muffler, and auto Transmission. EGR, O2 Sensor, MAP, MAP Sensor, and Electronic Module. But I have not had any failure in the last 15,000 mile, Now it has 116,000. |

Cant believe this post is still going!! I sold both astro's and now own two again. a 94 and a 89. The 94 is a nice conversion van with 296k on it **not a typo** The 89 is a window stro with 226k. The 94 I paid $900 for and is my daily driver. The 89 I paid $250 for and the engine is shot! The 89 is currently my project stro. Im doing the works to her.

I update every 10,000 miles. I've went from 262,000 to 272,000 with no problems. I thought I was going to need rear brakes because I still haven't had to change them but they were still 50%. I've put 140,000 on it myself, I guess they aren't ever going to wear out. Also I may put this van up for sale but I'll need around $2300 But it's still a pretty good van despite the miles.

Re: Astro Mileages
I've got an '89 with 81K. Not much mileage for an '89. It was my mom's. She worked close to home.
