Unhappy Re: 99 Astro Van check engine light but no code

My van is doing it again! ...it hasn't started for a week now but this time the tank is full of gas and i put heet in it...maybe i will take the distributer cap off and look for moisture? Again, it happened when the temp was around 32 and when it is raining out or foggy and it sits for a few days.

Re: 99 Astro Van check engine light but no code

A tune up consists of AC Delco double platinum or iridium spark plugs; don't waste your money on anything else! Spark plug wires, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter and air filter. Get good quality parts and do the job once! There are no adjustments to timing or idle speeds; they are done by the computer. In post #12 of this thread, you had spark at the coil but not at the plug. That indicates a problem with the cap, rotor or wires. Replace them all.

The P0102 code was set from starting the engine with the mass air flow sensor disconnected. After connecting it, the SES light should go out by itself, provided there are no other problems in the system. NOTE: To retrieve trouble codes, clear trouble codes, and/or turn the SES light off, all require an OBDII scanner.
