Re: 89 crx powers up but loses power
What is the car's maintenance history? Spark plugs, wires, distributor cap. How many miles?
Be specific on your problem. How does it sound when you start the car? What happens when you put it in drive, etc? Sam

Re: 89 crx powers up but loses power
It looks like a problem with the ignition switch.
Try to post this question at the CRX forum. Guys there may have a better knowledge of the vehicle. Good luck, Sam

Re: 89 crx powers up but loses power
did you check your grounds? there should be one from the valve cover to the radiator support, one from the tranny to the frame, and a couple other various spots.

Re: 89 crx powers up but loses power
Try jumping off another car your battery my be cracked .you can also use jumper cables to check for a bad ground neg. terminal to clean metal on the block pos to main large lug on the starter . use a female spade with a lenth of wire attached ,replace small exciter wire on starter with it. pos on battery just touch it momentarially to see if it kicks the starter. good luck
