Broken CD Player Mount
Well in my eclipse my stereo is leaning to the right because some of the bolt holes are broken off, I have been looking on ebay and stuff to replace it but even this complete dash doesnt include the peice I'm talking about does it?
If I remember correctly there should be one more peice in the bottom cutout that was black. I may be wrong (and probably am) but let me know. If I am right (for once ) anybody have any clue where i can get the peice im talking about?

Re: Broken CD Player Mount
Sounds like you need to start making some phonecalls to these junkyards yourself. I find it pretty hard to believe that there aren't any DSM's in any of the junkyards around there. Heck there's about a dozen of them in every junkyard around here... But if for some reason you can't find it at a junkyard then try a dealer...

Re: Broken CD Player Mount
We used to have a ton of dsms in the junkyards around here too before but lately i've been having a hell of a time finding any, I don't know what the deal is.
Can you get a closer picture of that piece that you're talking about. I know exactly what you want, but I can't tell if the one in ur pic is broken or not. |

Re: Broken CD Player Mount
That isnt the dash in my car, its one I found on ebay. Here are the pics i took of my car tonight.
These Images are huge so I'm using the thumbnails, I dont have anything to resize them =/ But you can see what I'm talking about more haha Picture 1 - I think I need a new console to begin with :P Picture 2 - Shows how bad the console piece is on the stereo mount but the next pictures are what I am actually talking about Picture 3 - Same as Picture 2 without the screws in. Picture 4 - The actually broken peice. Picture 5 - Other Side... Not broken. Picture 6 - Unmounted CD player and you can easily see what I'm talking about (I hope) So, what would I call that if I was asking someone? It look like its mounted off the heater controls so It wasn't included in that dash, so my only guess would be to have my dad and uncles check for dsms in the junkyards as much as they can. I've tried looking for parts cars and whatnot but haven't had any luck. If anyone knows of anyone with a 2g parts car hook me up! haha. OH If you cant see the pictures.... Click them. :P

Re: Broken CD Player Mount
I keep looking at the Ebay Auction one in my first post and it does look like what I'm talking about is there... can anyone confirm/disprove this? If the ebay auction had a close-up picture I'd be able to tell easier :P

Re: Broken CD Player Mount
The piece that is broken on yours is in fact part of the entire upper dash section like in your first post. It will be a ton of work to replace the whole thing though. Just realize how big of a project you'll be getting yourself into if you do decide to replace it. You'll best be suited to do it over a weekend when you don't need to drive your car. I spent hours on removing mine without breaking anything on it...
Have you considered trying to fix that part another way? Maybe you could JB weld a piece of plastic in there and drill a hole in it and put a metal bracket mount in there for added strength and support... It's something to consider trying at least before replacing the entire dash... **EDIT** Actually, the more I thought about it the more I think the radio/heater mount was able to be removed from the actually dash via the underside... Granted you'll still have to pull the dash out to replace it, you might not have to get the entire upper dash assembly... I bet if you go to a Mitsubishi dealership and ask the parts department about it they will be able to tell you if its all one piece or if it comes off. If that is the case then it would be cheaper to get just the mount piece. Probably not as easy to find though...
