187,000 and still a solid car. They are built to last. I am trying for 250,000 miles.

Re: How Many Miles Does Your Corolla Have?
225,000 miles on a 1994. Still purs as good as the day I bought 'er, more than 4 years ago w/ 155,000 (I expected to double the mileage of this car, so it was well worth the $3,000 to me). Only replaced clutch, fuel pump, & starter.
Used to get 35~38mpg with 5spd & stock wheels, but adding 17" rims dropped me down to ~26mpg regardless of city or highway driving. Shoulda bought the 15s!! |

Re: How Many Miles Does Your Corolla Have?
This thread makes me glad that I had my girl buy a 2005 Corolla. Sounds like it will practically last forever with just oil changes, brake jobs and tires.
It's a 2005 and already has 40k miles. Now on the other hand, my 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix with 80k miles is already losing my confidence a bit with the ABS, Traction Control and SES lights on.

2001 Corolla S with 146,000 miles. Needs a new clutch but runs like it is brand new.

Re: How Many Miles Does Your Corolla Have?
I have a 1995 Prizm 1.6, 3 speed auto and it still gets 25+ mpg.
I have over 320,000 miles on it. I am not the original owner but I have had it for over 4 years now. The previous owner had the transmission rebuilt. All I have done is put 80,000 miles on it and change the fluids, tires, and the cv axles. I am about to over haul the suspension as it is still stock! |

Re: How Many Miles Does Your Corolla Have?
I had an 87 Corolla 5-speed. It was rusted badly and I sold it when it had 240,000 miles. It was still going strong. I purchased a 99 Corolla with 118,000 miles.
Also, my wife has a 95 Corolla DX with 226,000 miles. It gets 30+ mpg consistantly, and it is an automatic. Not a spec of rust either. It looks almost as good now as it did when we bought it in '96! I love the Corolla because it is a reliable, economic, fairly trouble-free car. I have also found that when I do need to work on it, it is fairly easy to work on. |

Re: How Many Miles Does Your Corolla Have?
The engines are Junk and I know one yard owner that sells them real easy.He wishes that he had a dumpster load of them. They go for $1,500.00 for an used engine.Japanese cars break down too and are very expensive to repair

You should be able to discern that no matter how good a track record a manufacturer has there is always going to be some sort of problem with something. A person losing an engine or transmission is something that happens. It is not worth bashing the manufacturer unless it has been a consistant problem over time. What really interests me is the fact that you talk about "one yard owner". It is like this isn't even your own opinion but something you heard from some one else. I don't know any Toyota owners who are unsatisfied and you are pretty much the only one bashing them in these posts. That speaks volumes for Toyota! |

Re: How Many Miles Does Your Corolla Have?
all i can say is when you get ready to rebuild them nissans and yotas most of the time you can slap a set of original rings and bearings in as for some reason the metal does not wear down as american made motors.and this is with way over 200,000 on the motor.
