'95 fan blower motor stuck on high - even when off
I just bought a '95 Continental, and the a/c works fine - mostly. The blower motor is always on high, so it gets very cold. I have to switch to "floor" to keep from freezing (or raise the temp). When I press the off button, the display goes dark, but the blower motor continues to run on high. Since all the vacuum leaves the vent control system when it's turned off, the air blows out the top though the defrosters - so it's very noisy when "off". When I operate the fan control dial (up or down), it has no effect. Moving it up or down will turn the vent on if it's turned off (the display lights up), but the motor is always blowing at high speed.
Any ideas where to start looking? |

It's a bad solder joint in the Blower Speed Controller.
Very simple to repair if you can get the Speed Controller out. Just re-solder the main resistor-can back to the circuit board. Use a higher tin solder than Ford used and you'll never have that problem again.
