Removing Pitting Old Chome & Rust on car
How do you remove pitting on old chrome pieces? Also if a car has a light rust on the body what do I use to sand it down before I get it painted? Help !!!

Pitted chrome usually can be solved with “SOS” or “BRILLO” pads. Just rub down the bumper or what have you, and then be sure to apply a heavy coat of chrome polish. Beyond that the only other choice is to get it re-chromed.
Light body rust can be removed by the DIY-er with any number of things. The key is that you get all the rust out of the pits. There is a tool you can pick up anywhere including AZ or advance that goes in your drill. It looks like a round sponge, it work great. Once removed be sure to use a good grade primer (NOT LAQUER BASED) to seal out the weather.
