oh man this is proving to be an expensive year for me! I swear I'm more of a box collector than an actual modeller now

I think 90% of modellers turn into collectors at some point.

Same here...just added (or about to be added) to my stockpile: two Californias, two DBS, ZR-1, SL63 and HD Lambo LP640 transkit.

Re: Fujimi Ferrari 458 Italia

I have great expectations also from the upcoming Revell kit.
The last works (california closed) are very nice for me, just a shame they persist using that terrible recicled plastic for the injections...

Re: Fujimi Ferrari 458 Italia

Speaking of Californias, where could I find one without paying $40 on eBay??

Model Roundup shows them; $22.90 for HT and $26.90 for the CV. Both in Revell AG boxes (Revell US CV will be somewhat cheaper whenever the slow boat ever arrives).

And yet a couple more photos from Fujimi's newish sales site:

Fujimi Site

The model looks spot-on to my eyes. Can't wait to have this one on my bench! And it surely won't be Rosso Corsa

I've found it hard to buy the open top version, as US shops say its been discontinued. Probably due to the upcoming release of the Revell USA version. I pre-ordered at megahobby for $19.

Re: Fujimi Ferrari 458 Italia

Italia looks hot. Definitely one of the better looking Ferraris of late.

Re: Fujimi Ferrari 458 Italia

Not sure how you want to build your 458 kit?

Configure your 458 Italia right here on the Ferrari website!

Here's how my Fujimi kit will likely end up; but with black wheels:
