parking lights won't go off
On 94 j30 when headlight switch is turned off, dash and parking lights won't go off - kills battery. Any suggestions from anyone who had this problem? Thanks

Disconnect sw connector -->lights off? If so, replace.

Thanks for ditching the red font. You have either a bad headlamp switch or taillamp relay{also powers illumination}.Quick test.Remove panel where your interior fuse box is.Behind you will find some relays.Disconnect the blue relay{taillamp relay}.Ensure dashlights go out.Open your hood.Remove cover for relays.Steal a blue relay and install where taillamp relay was removed. All Nissan relays are coloured coded. All blue relays are the same. They are called a 1M {1 make} relay. If lights now work normal, you have a stuck relay. If not, it's definately the headlight switch.
What you are doing here is jumping into the middle of the circuit and this test will tell which direction to go.Upstream or downstream. Good luck |
