what happened to my engine?!?
i was on the highway for like 10min, then i got off at an exit and stopped at a light, and my car was making a very loud CLANK, CLANK noise...my dad said it was blown, but it had oil, adn there were no servie lights or anything...on the way home, this noise got worse, and i ended up stalling once on the road, and the engine wouldnt turn over for like 2 min, anyone have anyclue?

Is it a metallic clank? or more of a dull knocking sound? I'm thinking it may be the bearings in the motor- your dad could be partially right? I'm sure someone else on here, who has experienced rod knock could better describe it though.

It is (take your pick): 1) Bearing is gone and crank probably hosed 2) Rod is bent 3) Rod bearing cap has started coming off and is just waiting to escape the block. You will want to buy a JDM engine to replace it.

I feel your pain...i am that someone who is experienceing rod knock and yes it makes you want to puke. My noise ins't quite matallic sounding its more of a someone put rock in my engine type noise. My motor still runs fine until the rod bends/snaps or smoething...but thats ok i'm getting a JDM motor instead . I let you know where i find the best price and post it on here....i'll have it up in a couple of days.....

I built a killer NA engine that was the same as Mike Kojima's engine in Project 200SX SE-R. A year later I had to pull the engine. I found large amounts of steel in the oil pan. When Mike Smith of JWT started cleaning the head he found it filled with two difference sizes of steel shot. It was either negligence on the part of the head builder or sabotage. Either way it was a total write-off. Six thousand bucks down the toilet.

My G20 made that same noise...right before a connecting rod shot through the block. You might want to have it checked out.
