Trying to figure out which transmission to use

First let me say that this forum rocks!!
Ok I currently have a 1996 olds cutlas ciera,3.1 engine , automatic, fully loaded.I am wanting to take the engine out of the olds and put it into a small p/u truck. But I am not sure what transmission will hook up the this motor. I would keep the olds but it was really run hard and not taken care of before I got it but the motor has been recently been replaced so I really don't want to give it up. Thanks for any info you can give me

Re: Trying to figure out which transmission to use

Welcome to AF. This engine does not lend itself well to a swap like that, fwd to rear wheel drive. All the harnesses and the pcm must go along with the engine also. Trans not sure of, though.
