true ..there're bpt gtx and gtr but no type R...type R is an acura integra engine (b18c) acura type-r engine

Re: motor
what exactly is the difference from a type-r and a regular Honda engine. I know they're faster...but what is the actual physical difference?

well what do you mean by "regular" honda engine...physical difference...
b16 are 1.6L, b18 are 1.8L, h22 are 2.2L and so on..all 4 cyl. |

Re: motor
yea, Type-R just means the J-spec version typically. The Japanese motors tend to be slightly more powerful.

hi, i'm new to this forum
i've read this entire post from beginning to end and i'd just like to correct somethings on here. a gsr motor for the acura integra isn't a type-r motor. a gsr motor is what they have in the acura integra gsr, that's how it received the name 'GSR'. i don't think that you could fit a gsr motor in your car anyway, from alot of my friends who do motor swaps, they say that when they swap a gsr motor into their civic hatches, they gain power but they are only a bit quicker than a gsr and the reason for that is because the gsr motor was only built for the gsr and the other cars don't have all the wiring harness for that of the gsr motor which would help use all the power that the motor has to offer. if you really want to know what type of motor is best for your car, you should join an mx-3 site and ask there. from what i've researched from mx6.com and mx-3.com about the 4cyl motors to the 6 are too much work but possible. you're better off getting a v6 mx-3 and then swapping a klze motor. alot of people will say that the mx-3 is slow but actually it's pretty quick being stock! my friends drive civics, integras, legends, del sols, eclipses, talons, you name it. only a few can actually beat the mx3 cause my motor is only about the same strength as the civic ex and weighs more than an integra (full weight of cars). which is really good for how fast i can move on highway runs and quarter mile. if i were you, i'd buy that supra then sell if to make off money to put into the mx-3. that's just my thought. i love my 3 and when it comes to cornering, my friends really have to struggle to stay with me. what can i say, i'm just a fan of mazda and all the other cars i've driven just don't beat the mazda. and how much do you plan on selling your mx3 for?

Re: motor
uhhh... I dont think anyone here was actually planning on swapping a honda GSR motor. When we say GSR, it means a MX3 GS (1.8L V6 K8 motor) swapped with a KLZE making it a sort of "type R". So GS-R...
