97' Golf has no signals

my golf has no signals and when i put the hazards on the lights dont come on but the the light on the switch comes on and stays lit? i changed the signal switch but made no difference????

1. Did you try changing the bulbs? (Doy)

2. To give a good idea of what the problem, try and give a couple good hard whacks with an open palm to the left side and right side of the steering wheel (NOT the center). Then try the turn signals. Sometimes it's a wiring problem, not necessarily the switch itself.

I found the problem. It seems my grandmas mechanic took the hazard relay out and left it out after he charged her $1000 to replace her heater core. What a little asshole he thought he could rip off another woman

The last mechanic my girlfriend took her car to stole the fuse for her horn off the relay panel. That's what some mechanics do. That's why I work on my own cars and won't let my girlfriend take her car to a mechanic unless I know they're good for it.
