Where do I find hex rod?
I'm busy buidling a 2JZ engine for my Supra. I'll be building a couple more cars with engine in the nearby future. Therefor I would like to use braided lines. I saw a tutorial of making your own fittings for these hoses. I asked at my LHS if they had any hex rod for that. But they told me they didn't. I thought the hex rod was made by Evergreen, though I'm not sure now. My LHS has al the other stuff from Evergreen so...
Does anybody now which manufacturer has hex rods? And if so, is there some place on the net where I could possibly buy it? Thanks in advance Bas

Re: Where do I find hex rod?
I have definetly seen it made by Evergreen. Hobbylinc has it: http://www.hobbylinc.com/cgi-bin/s6....tr=styrene+hex
I've had a good experience w/ them so I'd shop there.

Re: Where do I find hex rod?
If you want the hex rod in plastic I think a company called Plastruct make it.
http://www.plastruct.com/ They stock all sorts of products for scratch building etc.Check out the website. |

Re: Where do I find hex rod?
The hobbylinc listing is not for evergreen brand. The sizes offered are rather large for 1/24 stuff. The 0.80 is in inches!

Re: Where do I find hex rod?
I think you mistyped/are wrong... It's 0,080" which is 2mm. The 0,118" is approximately 3mm and the biggest, 0,156" is 4mm. I don't really think it'll be to big... It's very usefull for AN/DF fittings.

Re: Where do I find hex rod?
I've just bought some Plastruct Hex rod from Antics Models here in the UK:
http://www.expotools.co.uk/ They seem to have the whole range of rod, sheet etc and from placing the order to arriving on my doorstep was a very reasonable 4 working days. Recommended. |

Re: Where do I find hex rod?
Sorry, I did mis-type.
My LHS stocks this and I, after looking at some, found it too big for my needs.

Re: Where do I find hex rod?
Plastruct have lots of hex rod (and other shapes) in many sizes which I am sure be used for AN fittings - I can even get thestuff here in Poland!
Bigger problem here is a local source of small diameter braided wire
