Lightbulb older 1996 can I reprogram the key fob remote control myself?

My Nissan dealership tells me to bring the car in......hmmmm.
I have replaced the battery on my little door lock remote control.
Nissan says that I cannot reprogram that myself. They are going to charge me £30 for the privelege.
Is this true? Or, can I program it myself. This is the older design1996 primera; that same year the newer design was introduced.

KEY FOB PENDANT: LUCAS 3TXA KEY

Just two little blace buttons

Can anyone save me money?
If you can; THANKS in advance.
