Whats inside rear wiper motor [pics]
Primera W11 (wagon)
In case you wonder whats inside I had a problem with that wiper. It just stoped working... Dealer asked 500$ for new, so, of course, there is no way i`m gonna pay that much for so little So , i decided to fix it . How can such a simple thing in japanese car fail at all? Simple - it's made in Spain!! Disconnect all wires Remove the blade (tricky part, coz its stuck) So, this is it Its sealed with rivets. How to open it? Just drill of those rivets! Hmmm... So it`s all rusty and... yack! Cleaning the contacts Rusty contact wheel So, the big question - how did the water get into this well sealed motor? And here comes the surprise. The sprinkler pipe, which goes thru the very core of the mechanism, was broken (see the little hole at the very end). How could this happen? Probably it just got stuck, and when the wiper rotated, it twisted the pipe and broke it. The solution was simple. We cut off the metal pipe and added a plastic/rubber one. Which will porbably stuck someday, but hopefully can survive the twist. |
