Re: Car modeling... confessions
If I could just have back all the time I've spent crawling face-down on the floor looking for what I dropped, I'd have finished 3x as many models by now...

Re: Car modeling... confessions
I'm starting to avoid supercars that are too CF intensive. I sold off my Carrera GT and Enzo because of this (even though I had Scale Motorsport templates).
*On that note, the aftermarket companies need to produce COMPLETE & ACCURATE (yeah, you, Scale Motorsports) templates for all these new CF intensive cars. |

Re: Car modeling... confessions
I never prime parts other then body
I dont worry to much about painting areas of the kit that wont be seen, you know like, the insides of the body, top side of the chassis, underneath the seats, stuff like that, why waste paint . I like to sit on the floor with my builds and go vroom! vroom ! with them lol I too have often thought about blowing up some of my builds I will never be a collector, I will just have more kits then I have time to build |

Re: Car modeling... confessions
Sometimes, I get all geared up to build work on a model, and spend all my free time looking at reference or AF, and nothing gets built.

Re: Car modeling... confessions
Sometimes, I get some extra money by working on a friend's car or from overtime at work, and I don't tell my wife about it so I can buy model car stuffs.

Re: Car modeling... confessions
Sometimes, my friends invite me to a really amazing party or something, and I say, "Nah, I got this real important thing to do," and the important thing is gluing pieces of plastic together.

Re: Car modeling... confessions
I don't actually finish a model...I just like choosing the color, prepping and painting the body.

Re: Car modeling... confessions
I also open up kit boxes and examine contents with nothing being done.

Re: Car modeling... confessions
I spend all day daydreaming about the kit I'm working on and get home to watch TV.

Re: Car modeling... confessions
I regularly search Ebay for model parts I don't really need.
I really think I will build them all.
