Thnx,

At what time did you park your car there on the saturday? We arrived around 12:15 in Le Mans.
The guy with the F40 is a friend of yours'?

What a pack; F40 and GTR McLaren!

This weekend on Finland Turku, in sunday we have Classic Sportscar Concours Dé Elegance meeting. Not hopes of McLarens there.

Re: The definitive 16R thread

i think your timing was very good, we had breakfast in Arnage around 10.30am Saturday and got to the circuit around noon, maybe slightly afterwards.

For those who are interested mechanically the car ran perfectly but we did have a connection problem on the windscreen wipers. Suffice to say the drive home was a little stressful but i can strongly recommend the rain-x product...it really works.

Car is going back to Mclaren this week for a check over, to have the wiper issue resolved and (if i'm lucky) a damn good clean as it is now absolutely filthy.

Regrettably the car will NOT be at Goodwood as it is unlikely that it will be back from Mclaren in time and in any event other family obligations mean i have to make alternative travel plans that afternoon.

I am planning to be at the www.caringwithcars.com charity event on 9th July all being well.

Re: The definitive 16R thread

It was great to see the car on saturday. We left with you from Arnage, going to the Parc des Expositions, i'll post pics from that great moment.

Will you be going at the Modena Trackdays event at the Nurburgring GP track on the 29/30th of june?

Good to hear you had nothing but a minor issue. I'm sure the boys at McLaren will be thrilled to find it in that condition.

Quite a shame you can't make it to Goodwood. I know the feeling too, yet again.

Might not offer the same thrills as a track day, but what a wonderful way to utilize the car.

Thanks good brieffing your trip to Le Mans! Just so superb you drove from UK there and back. Not everyone would do that.... these cars.....

I'm sure that wiper problem will be solved quickly. Too bad we are not going to seen images of your car in Goodwood, but hopelly that Caringwithcars-charity event would be added some images here.

But I understanded that you are still very pleased to the car?
You have had it now about one year, has it been that what you expected to be?

I really would love to see you car today; shoted it back 1996 in Le Mans livery in Helsinki, but no change to visit in UK this year.

Re: The definitive 16R thread

Nice pics Patrick, thanks.
I've been there from wednesday and looked around many times overthere also and made thousands of pics of the race etc etc.
Untill sunday morning, when I woke up and all my photogear was stolen . . . I couldn't find any motivation in my body to stay and went home sunday afternoon, without any pics of the race (and #16R) in de pocket.
After just one day, I feel the energy comes alive to check at the forum and see your pics, likes it.

Re: The definitive 16R thread

Pre-windscreen wiper meltdown I assume:

Even with the wiper it looks like the field of visibilty is pretty narrow.

Those are clickable btw.

Hello,

nice shots. I expect more on the road from Nicob and others.

16R > I miss you this year. what is your way from Calais ? You pass by Alencon ?
I don't understand why McLaren takes 3 weeks to change wipers !?

It's the detail job that will take all that time - he said it was filthy.

I'm sure McLaren service has a bit of a queue, especially during the "busy season" when a lot of the cars seem to be coming out to play again. Couple that with a limited staff on hand to sort things out and the need to work meticulously at every step and it's understandable why there might be some delay.

Re: The definitive 16R thread

Bear in mind there are other car(s) in there having major work done that will take priority [first come first served?] and its not just a wiper change, there's a check up, wiper problem rectified and a damn good clean

It'll hopefully be back in time for the rainy season aka early to Mid July
