Opel corsa 1.4 Essentia 2012
Hello
Two weeks ago i bought opel corsa 1.4 essentia manual gear 2012. 98k car has to this day. Car checked every 15k in opel garage from today he start moving in the road. Before buying i took the car to the garage to check the car. All was all right. Mechanic said that they were checking engine they get 98hp in 110 kph. And it is considered to good result. It is???? Also there is somthing strange. Car climb very quick to 2k rpm. Like in 60kph i am in gear 5 and 2k rpm and car feeling good and moving great . I took the car to opel garagr and mechanic took the car with me to ride and say car is in very good condition. In 100 kph car was in 3k rpm In 110 kph car was in 3.4 rpm Is it ok? That car reaches the high rpm so fast.?? 40-50 kph gear 4 2k rpm..... |

Re: Opel corsa 1.4 Essentia 2012
I'm by no means an expert in this area, but I do have a few thoughts and requests for clarification.
How was the "98hp in 110 kph" test performed? Was this on a dynomometer (aka "dyno") or using math and accelerators (like a celphone application)? Is the horsepower rating supposedly at the wheels or at the crankshaft? What's the car rated to have? An engine speed of 2k at 60 kph in 5th gear does seem pretty high. Are you absolutely certain you were in 5th gear and not 3rd? Does the clutch seem to be good? Is the transmission a 5-speed or a 6-speed? -Rod |
