Question Engine Vibration

I'm puzzled at the moment. Over the past couple of weeks I have changed both of the engine mounts and the transmission mount on my 97 Neon SOHC with an automatic transmission, and now the vibrations seem to be worse. When the car is in park, neutral, or reverse there is no abnormal vibration, but when the car is in drive and stopped the car vibrates like the engine is going to leap out of the car. Any suggestions?

I dont' know if this applies to 1gen neons, but here's what I had going on: I drive a 2000 Neon. While driving around, whenever I stopped at a light or whatever, the engine started vibrating HARD (more so cuz of my motor mount inserts). It turns out that with the help of the guys in this forum, we diagnosed a common problem: the power steering pump valve sometimes "sticks" while driving. Next time you're at a stoplight, try giving the wheel a quick turn to one side and see if that stops it. Or, hold the brake with your left foot and VERY LIGHTLY tap the gas pedal. Either of these stops it for me.

Re: Engine Vibration

Thanks for the advice. It did partially reduce the problem.

One of the blades on my fans busted off somehow and it made my car shake like a meth addict when they kicked into gear to cool down the engine. Might be worth a check.
