Re: sway bar question
The sway bar links should all be the same for that car. Go to a good parts house and try to get into a Moog or McQuay-Norris catalog. That should set you straight.

I know 15/16 was the standard sway bar on '69 and the F40 suspension option got the 12 bolt rear end even with the smaller engines. After a brief search, I am now more confused about the suspension options then ever before...... ....Luckily, OPGI has all the sizes for just under $20. ............link |

don't take this to the bank but i believe the sway bars on a malibu is smaller than that on a "true SS".

Re: sway bar question
FWIW, the front bar from Trans Am ('70-'81) is 1 1/4" and fits! I put one on my '70 Judge, and when coupled with good shocks and springs, along with the 7/8 or 1" rear bar, the car handles amazingly well. The steering box from a '78 T/A w/WS-6 package is another BIG TIME improvement.
I know, all this is Pontiac stuff. It still fits the Chevelle! And a small block car can be made to really carve the corners! I've done a few '64 and '65 Chevelles in the past, that were very impressive in handling. Pissed off more than one 300ZX!! The '68-'72 is a bit better, as the frame rails are a tad wider and the wheelbase is 3" shorter. Jim |
