Reliablity over 100,000 miles?
I found a '94 G20 that looks really nice, but it has 101,000 miles on it. Can anyone tell me how well they run with that many miles or any problems that have occurred with high-mileage G20s?

depends how they drove it... if they took to the track which i highly doubt, if they raced on the street, etc. but, the sr20de is a good engine so it should be good. hope you get one

From Downunder..
My P10 has 160,000km and it goes mint. I have heard of Sr20de's
doing over 400,000km and 250,000km before requiring the cam chain re-tensioned. The best way to kill an sr20de is bad maintenance. Some p10 sr20de's when they come in from Japan(to NZ) have clogged oil galleries due to no oil changes and this I have seen a few times but I dont know if it applies to the P11's. Upper sus arms wear I believe also in the G20/Primera's.

The biggest thing to check (if you can) is under the valve cover. The SR20 engine is prone to clogged cam oiling tubes and that can cause gunked internals and worn cams. Automatic G20s tend to suffer this more than manuals. Best guess is that the automatics don't see enough rpm regularly enough to get the oil pressure high enough to clean out the gunk.

mileage
My '91 G20 is pushing 220,000 miles and it still can trounce my '91 Accord SE with only 150,000 miles (both auto's ).
Just my 2 cents. |

The Auto I have basically had "low RPM" miles the first 60k of the car...then I started playing a bit more with higher RPMs. After 60k, would the higher RPMs at the present time help to clean out the engine? Or am i wasting gas/time/hurtin the engine more? Also, if you know, can the stock tranny mount handle an auto all the way up to redline and shiftin or will it rip it? Thanks!

Mine has done 131K Miles, and runs fine. No problems what so ever. (I have a Diesel, wich is supposed to be more reliable) But I`ve seen Primera`s that have done 500`000 km or 312`500 miles. So It wont be a problem I think. Primera`s are very reliable!!!

My g20 just hit 100,000 but it still runs perfect even with the way i drive it . I used to have a 91 SE-R RIP or should i say pieces and it had 180,000 miles on it and still ran perfect no smoke no nuthin. So buy it and enjoy.
