I donno why anyone hasn't brough this up yet, but if you are set on turbo, why not buy a 2g turbo? Cheaper, designed to be a turbo, and you get the almighty 4g63. Just a thought. I know you said you like the 3g bodystyle and all, but if turbo is a must and finances are on the cheap side, a 2g would be a better investment IMO. Otherwise, I concur on the 4 cyl. being a better choice.

also, i believe there are v4 cars produced in europe and random 3rd world countries today, but nobody in the US usually cares...so correct me if i'm wrong... also, the 4g64 is a sohc version of the "almighty" 4g63, and is actually bored out more so it has more displacement, if you look around, you'll notice some 4g63 guys converting to a 4g63/4 hybrid, w/ dohc and a 4g64 block and running much safer at the same and better times i'd buy a 2g if i had another chance though

Re: Which eclipse to buy?
The only problem with the 2g is it is getting virtually impossible to find a 2g Talon or Eclipse Turbo the has decent miles on it and they don't want an outragious amount of money for. There are 2 where I live. One is a private seller at it is a 98 GSX 5 speed with 89000 miles of it and he wants 12,500 for it. The other is a GST Auto with 76000 miles on it and they want 11,000 for it.

Re: Which eclipse to buy?
ya'll are right though, 2g's are very hard to come by w/ decent miles, my friend bought a 98 GS-T 5-speed a couple years ago for 10K $ and it had 21,k miles on it
that was a steal

Re: Which eclipse to buy?
Yea i think i might just get the gs because they are selling pretty cheap on ebay and i had troubles finding a good deal on a g2 eclipse. So what do u guys think with the turbo the enhanced kit or the cheaper one for 2 thousand. Which one is worth the money? Also is the 2 thousand one easy to upgrade?

my suggestion...if you have the money, go with the enhanced kit. for product information, you can send an email to sales@tearstone.com. Russ is usually pretty quick at answering emails. |
