Re: Turbo in 2005 GT

you'll be able to keep up but same hp to hp, you won't lose badly. that is if it is a gst or gsx. wait you said gt.....nevermind. It depends on the gst/gsx mods ie-bigger turbo / or high psi on turbo.

Re: Turbo in 2005 GT

on another forum, there was this guy who bought the ddp kit and just slapped in on his car. he was praising the kit until i started asking him questions. first, he had no gauges. he had nothing to tune it with, and he couldnt tell me how much boost he was running. i knew nothing about the turbo kit. he couldnt tell me any of the parts that came iwth it. that was about 2 months ago, by now, his engine is probably blown

Re: Turbo in 2005 GT

what do you guys means when u say a "5.8 psi" turbo kit? Do u mean to imply that the turbocharger unit would blow after that limit, or the engine cant take more than that? Or the BOV leaks after that? what? just wondering, since psi is MBC controlled, especially in aftermarket turbos...unless you have a BCS setup for some reason adapted to working with the ECU... ?

Re: Turbo in 2005 GT

the 5.8psi turbo kit DOES NOT come intercooled. going over 5.8psi with no intercooler will create too much heat for any engine to take.

once you get the intercooler, you can up the boost

the 5.8psi kit is designed for the guy who doesnt want an obscene amount of power. this is for a guy who wants more than what hes got, but doesnt have to go into the engine, transmission, or any other part of the car.

and yes...it is easily upgradable. thats another reason for having the kit. say you only have enough money right now for the 5.8 kit. in two months, you get enough money to buy yourself an intercooler and other supporting mods.

hey

Why I ask is if it is a GT don't get a turbo, no market and unless you have a lot of money and want to travel to Cali forget it. Plus the only two I've heard of and trust me I looked, called about 50 places and even Nascar (ask them to build me one) where junk. I'm new to this whole car thing so I just call and ask around and when 48 out of 50 professionals tells me a turbo for a V6 GT is junk I start to think so. Anyways, my eclipse has 328 HP, I only paid 4500 with everything. I will tear up a Evolution MR which does the 0-60 in 4.8 which is faster then the new GT Mustang. Turbos from what I heard are great for the smaller engines but not the 3.0 V6 GT

Headers 6G72 V6 SOHC - gave me around 45 HP
RIPP SDS-6G72 - Supercharger Drive System (RIPP) - around 100 hP

Anyways just had mine put in and when I drop the cluth in third I smoke the tires. If you want any info, their web site is great and they are known world wide for having the best superchargers for these type of cars, from what I've heard.
