Re: V6 mustung V.S. V6 eclipse who would win
are they both autos or manuals. auto mustang vs. manual eclipse....eclipse wins hands down even with a bad driver. auto vs. auto.....might be a little closer.

I had a v6 Camaro 5sp and I could smoke a v6 stang and I could hang with a non-supercharged v8 stang. Since I bought my GT I have raced a few v6 Camaros and I can blow the paint off their doors. So I would have to say that the Gt Eclipse can smoke a v6 stang

Re: V6 mustung V.S. V6 eclipse who would win
Here's the deal, its called paper racing! (i like this stuff)
and u can do this yourself using kbb.com or edmunds.com and using the sidebyside comparison there is also a site where you can get the rated 1/4 mile times but i forgot it V6 Mustang coupe at the crank has (the newer model).... 193 @ 5500 RPM Torque 225 @ 2780 RPM the weight is 3066 keep in mind that ford is crap and check your own numbers and the V6 Eclipse is at 200hp @ 5500rpm 205ft/lbs @4000 so close numbers s 3120lbs weight its a close race but you should pull ahead EASY if its an auto (like waht was stated before) and if he can't drive I haven't raced a mustang yet, but my friends got a conv. w/ dual pipes and chips and claims 250hp, i think i can take him but we'll see we both run 15sec 1/4s keep in mind hp rules the game and the more you have to the ground the better you are |

I think that the Eclipse GT 5 speed can beat most stock NA engine 4 or 6 cylinder under 30 k brand new, but there are exeptions

Re: V6 mustung V.S. V6 eclipse who would win
does that include the 350Z?? cause the base model is like $28000. thats kind of a broad statement. what about the new mustangs, like the 2005 v6's. how much horsepower do those have?

Re: V6 mustung V.S. V6 eclipse who would win
it really depends what year V6 mustang, the '94-'98 only had 140 hp, the '99-'04 had 190, and the '05 has 207. Which one is it?

Re: V6 mustung V.S. V6 eclipse who would win
200 hp is flywheel hp
i think the eclipse GT stock 5 speed has 170 - 175 whp (wheel HP) and the GT automatic has like 160 whp

You really think the almighty 200 horsepower (flywheel) Eclipse GT is unbeatable by modern 4 cylinder or 6 cylinder cars? It's a boat, to start, with a curb weight of about 3142 for the 5 speed tranny. At the wheels, you're looking at about 170 whp. Do you really want to get in to which cars obliterate this in stock form? Not to mention, most of these can walk away from an Eclipse GT, auto or 5 speed, with as much as 1.4L less of displacement (Civic SI). 98-01 Acura Integra Type-R (200hp, 1.8L I4) 92-01 Acura Integra GSR (94-01 1.8L 170hp, 92-93 1.7L 160hp, I4) 01-03 Acura CL (260hp, 3.2L V6) 02-05 Acura RSX Type-S (02-04 200hp, 05 210hp, both 2.0L I4) 91-93 Acura NSX (under 30k)(270hp, 3.0L V6) 96-02 BMW Z3 (225hp, 3.0L I6) 00-04 Ford Focus SVT (170hp, 2.0L I4) 99-04 Honda Civic SI (99-00 160hp 1.6L I4, 01-05 160hp 2.0L I4) 93-95 Honda Civic Del Sol VTEC (160hp, 1.6L I4) 00-05 Honda S2000 (00-03, 240hp 2.0L I4, 04-05 240hp 2.2L I4) 01-03 Dodge Stratus (200hp, 2.7L V6) 97-04 Jeep Wrangler (181hp, 4.0L I6) 03-05 Infinity G35 (280hp, 3.5L V6) 01-05 Lexus IS300 (215hp, 3.0L I6) 04-05 Mazda RX-8 (238hp, 1.3L Rotary) 03-05 Nissan 350Z (287hp, 3.5L V6) 04-05 Nissan Maxima (265hp, 3.5L V6) 00-03 Toyota Celica (180hp, 1.8L I4) This is all I could get off the top of my head. If you doubt any of these numbers, go here: http://autos.msn.com/default.aspx?src=Home Btw, all of those are cars are under $30,000, 4 or 6 cylinders (except the Rotary, a big 1.3L), and are naturally aspirated. If you still think the GT or GTS could walk away from any of these cars, do us all a favor and slit your wrists. Do you even want me to touch forced induction cars? |
