no gas to the fuel filter.
I went to start my 98 chevy 350 truck and it would not start. I was not getting any gas. i pulled the filter and turned the motor over and no gas came out of the line. So I think it is the fuel pump. How hard is it to replace, and about how much should it cost.

This is an easy one: To replace the tank fuel pump, you can either suck all the gasoline out of the tank, and then drop the tank, OR the easier way.....unbolt the bed from the rear frame. Have a couple of friends help you to raise the bed to have access to the top of the fuel tank and fuel pump. That's the way I did it last time by myself on my then 1988 CK! You should be able to get an after-market fuel pump from almost any auto parts store. I forget what that last one cost me? It's been 4 years. You don't have to completely remove the bed, just tip it up like a lean-to and prop a long board, or whatever to hold it up while you do the fuel pump swap.

Re: no gas to the fuel filter.
$260! Good grief! You must have bought that pump from the dealer. I bought mine from Pep Boys. I think I paid something like $75 for it about 4 or 5 years ago. I hope the dealer has a warranty on that part, considering the money you spent.

No, I bought it at Auto Zone. I called 4 differant auto parts stores, plus Pep Boys and auto zone was the second cheapest by $10 but they had it in stock.
