progress : Kawasaki Z1000 MKII
Well, so much for skylines, 510s, and laurels, heres an old skool japanese BIKE!
Its a Kawasaki Z1000 MKII, about a 1980 model. Similar bike to the KZ1000R Eddie Lawson replica. It is an Aoshima kit (actually called a Z750FX, however the options to build it as a 1000 are all in the kit including photoetched badges), and comes with HEAPS of tuning gear, including: -carbs with open bellmouths, -oil cooler and braided "hose", fork brace, -clipon racing handlebars (and a number of other types, including the MX style ones I'm using), -piggyback shocks, -finned alloy engine covers, - an alloy swingarm -and an aftermarket 4-into-1 Kerker exhaust system. There are also a number of "tuning" decals including Kerker, Castrol, "Hashiriya Speed King", Earl's, Yoshimura, AP-lockheed etc included. It also has photo etched logos and rubber hoses for EVERYTHING. The seat even has adhesive Vinyl to upholster it!! anyway, I'm not quite done, still need to paint the rear license plate support and add the taillight and other lenses, and I'm waiting on the LHS to get some CF film which I am going to cover the sidecovers (not in pic, they fill those triangular gaps in the frame behind the carbies) with before applying the Z1000 MKII photoetch. I also have to make an upper handlebar clamp. anyway...
