The new model GS needs to be upgraded to compete with the AMG's
At astonishing top speeds of 198 (not governed) and blazing 0-60 time 0f 4.5 seconds this 5.5 litre AMG designed, Mercedes built sport sedan sets the new benchmark for fast luxery cars. The lexus GS 430 is one of my more favored cars but at 300bhp it dosen't compete with theAMG's 469bhp. Even BMW's M5 sedan (the closest competor) is far behind with less tidy handeling than the E class and only 396bhp.

Well, maybe it's next on tap for Toyota / Lexus. The IS300 seems to be fairing well against the 3-series & C-Class right now.

Lexus has stated it will not compete in the HP wars. They are putting R&D in HYBRIDS.
Basically, imagine a V-8 GS with V-10 power with V-6 fuel economy. By 2010 all Lexus will offer Hybrid options. |
