Vauxhall astra club auto 56 plate-noisy gear change
Hi guys.
I was wondering before I go to the garage I'd as ask you guys on the forum about a recent clunky noise my cars making when it changes down in gears and when I put it in reverse as well. Any ideas guys? Thanks Shiv |

I'm not very familiar with Vauxhalls and you don't really describe the noise. So with very limited information, I'll offer u-joints (if rear wheel drive) or engine/transaxle mounts.

Sorry my description wasn't very helpful. I've been told it makes a clicking noise when it goes down in gears. When put in reverse it makes a grinding noise. |

Is it an automatic transmission or manual? If manual, does it make any noise when the clutch is depressed?
Has the fluid level been confirmed to be correct? Is the fluid in good shape? -Rod |

It is a automatic transmission. Will have to get back to you on the fluid level questions as the car is not here at the moment.
