Adding a DVD Player, but Keeping Cassette Player
Hello! I am looking for advice on whether or not this can be done. I have a 2002 Honda Civic EX 2 door coupe. I just bought it and the deciding factors on me buying the car was that it was red and had a cassette player. All of my music is on cassettes and I prefer to use my cassettes. I recently bought a few CDs, but found out I do not have a CD player (and I do not actually like using CDs). However, I would like to install a DVD player in my car to play DVDs on it and hook up a back up camera to.
My car either had a CD player in the trunk of the car and the older gentleman who previously owned the car took it out, or it never had one to begin with. On the dials of the cassette/radio, it says CD/Cassette though. Is this possible to do this? Or is this impossible? I've checked online previously for cassette DVD combo players, but apparently there is a very limited market for these because I have not found one, LOL! |

Normally you connect a CD changer to accomplish this. It can be installed in the trunk or in the center console. DVD is whole nother animal, you will need a video screen to view the video portion. The backup camera will similiarly need a video screen to display on. Your love of cassettes is going to trap you into the 1970's technology

That is what I fear. Hm. So do you believe that this will be impossible as well?

your best bet is to find a double DIN DVD player with backup camera input, then find a way to integrate some type of cassette player in to the aux input.
