06 T&C power window
I have a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country. The drivers side power window stopped working. The passenger side window and rear vents work. Last month it stopped and a week later it just started to work up until today. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 06 T&C power window
It could be the window motor itself assuming that you meant the passenger side and rear vents work not the drivers side and rear vents work. When it does it see if you have power going to the window motor itself. There will be two wires. When you hit the switch to go up you should have power on one wire and when you go down you should have power on the other wire. If you do then your wires are good.

Re: 06 T&C power window
I took off the switch casing and there are about 12 wires that go into a plug. no wires go direct into switch so i dont know what colors are for the drivers side. If it was the motor would it stop, work and stop again? It started to work again and am worried it will happen again. or worse stop working with the window down

Re: 06 T&C power window
Here's what you do if it stops working again:
Turn on your lights and push the button. If the lights dims slightly it means that everything works and juice is getting there and the motor is locked up. You can also take off the door panel and tap on the motor while you push the button and see if you can get it unstuck. If the lights don't dim at all then there's an electrical issue. I.E. loose wire or bad switch. I think your car has an express down. Did you have any issues with it before like a buzzing sound when you rolled down the window? If so that indicates a bad switch. But based on your symptoms I'm leaning towards a bad motor. |

And yes, the motor could get stuck and unstuck again.

Re: 06 T&C power window
I have changed several window motors in the Chrysler/Dodge minivans. The symptoms can range from not working at all to intermittently not working. And sometimes it could be something as simple as a dry window track that needs lubed. But id still agree with Alphabravo and look more toward the motor.

Re: 06 T&C power window
Our 07 Grand Caravan passenger window just up and quit. Never an issue before. I tried the button to see if the lights dimmed and nothing. I tried the slam the door with the button pushed to see if it would go and nothing. I guess next step is pull off the door panel and see if any power to motor. Is there a fuse or something for each window?

Re: 06 T&C power window
I'm told it's the brushes in the motor that go bad. Mine works intermitantly and when it doesn't I bang on the door, hard, and it works again. Mines an '02 T&C.
Can just the motor be replaced without replacing the entire "regulator" system? |

Yes. Even just the brushes. From reading, getting the cable spool back together can be maddening.

Re: 06 T&C power window
RIP- What would be a source for just the motor? All I found on ebay is the whole regulator assembly. Seems to me that replacing just the motor would be cheaper and easier than the whole assembly.
