Talbot Lotus 1000 Lakes '81

Hello. Working with resin kit of Talbot Lotus. The scale is 1:24. The master of the kit is made by Finnish modeller. And the resin cast is done by his colleagues. The model shows the car driven by Henri Toivonen in 1981 1000 Lakes rally.

I love this ! It is the Airtrax kit isn't it ? How was looking yours ? Mine was pretty bad actually. Usable by the way, with some work, except maybe the front grille.

It still looks way better than the Profil 24 kit I own too though.

Yes, this is from AirTrax. The quality of the kit is quite good. Few parts were very fragile, and I managed to break them. So I need to create new from styrene. I think the most important task with these resin kits are careful test fitting of every part before any paintings. All parts need cleaning up with filing and sanding. Some parts need also putty to fill airbubble holes. Connecting the base plate and body was quite challenging, but I made it few times before any other building operation to be sure I can handle it.

I'm sorry, I don't know if this kit is available anymore.

10 years ago,I also have that kit,but it was very bad.I threw them away.
There were no winscreens in the kit,the resin was full of bubbles,the tyres were in resin and bad quality;the chassis was torned.No decals;
The wheels ware very bad.
But I am thinking that Tapani has rebuild that kit.

I wanted to congratulate Tumppi
made a miracle ..
we have seen these photos and decided to buy this model
we read that we had to work but did not believe we had to throw 80% of the parts
besides the seller has only communicated us after receiving the models that the decals are to be purchased separately, so we paid 150 euros for a little resin ... horrible
