1999 300M Turn signal awitch

Does anyone know what is involved in replacing the turn signal switch on the steering column in a 1999 300M.
My friend broke off the turn signal lever and Guess who has to replace it.
We found a replacement switch and I was wondering how to change it since I am not really familiar with this car.
Any help would be appreciated..
