z31 boost question

i have recently bought a 84 300zx turbo and i've heard alot about people boosting 10psi with no modification over the stock 7psi. do i need to purchase a boost controler or is this useally done from adjusting the wastegate? thanks

Re: z31 boost question

Usually a boost controller or some welding tips stuff in the waste gate line to restrict airflow delay the stock solenoid from opening.
