my oldsmobile 98 regency won't go pass 45 mph

car starts up fine but wont go over 45 mph, what do i do? 1991 oldsmobile 98 regency elite

Welcome to AF. You mean it looses power at 45 or the trans doesn't up shift, we need more info here. Very general question considering we are at a desk somewhere, has anyone driven the car anything been checked out?

sorry, it wont shift up, yes i drove it about 7 miles home, shifted smooth untill it got around 45 and then it would just rev up.

Not good, if the fluid is full, then you will have to have a trans tech scan it for slippage errors and solenoid functions, sounds like internal issues though.
