96 Olds 98 with a noise

I have this very annoying noise under my hood on my 96 olds 98. Like a bad bearing nosie or clattering... Its a 3.8 v6 with 155k on it, non supercharged. Noise is present when car runs for a couple of mins not at first. Sounds like it is coming from the pulleys. I took of my serp belt and the noise is still there, which basically rules out anything that was spinning. Only thing left is my crank and looking at previous post that is where I might head, although, it looks okay. I just got the car and I would like to fix this annoying problem.. Anyone else have this sort of probl em????
