Re: question about the 99 lifters

Lifters are TOTALLY different. I highly doubt your tick is lifters. My old engine before it blew had 150k on it and didnt tick. My "new" engine is up to about 90k and does not tick. You are probably hearing your injectors pulsing.

Re: question about the 99 lifters

well... i believe it is the lifters because when the car is cold it will do it and then when you rev it ticks faster... and then once the car is warm and i start driving it goes away... and it fits all the lifter tick descripitions i have read...

Re: question about the 99 lifters

I would like to start a movement. This movement is going to be called the "we don't have lifters" movement. Or the "Why does everyone call them lifters" moment.

I actually don't care, just felt like bitching a little there

Re: question about the 99 lifters

How do you tell the difference between lifter tick and injector tick?

Re: question about the 99 lifters

i can't tell what the sound is, but times when i'm idling, it sounds like a soft rapid knocking noise, lick someone tapping their fingers fast on glass. (not finger nails, its a dull sound) what am i experiencing?

you all just confused me with the difference now.
