enclosure depth question..

ok, so ive decided to make the enclosure for my subs like the ones people posted in the other thread ... put em down on the floor... now, they need 1.4' of airspace per speaker, for ported, or .88 - 1.66 for sealed.....now, assuming the length of the trunk space (from seat to hatch) is like, 48", and the narrowest part would be 36", with that space, i can make the required airspace for either ported or sealed, if i made the enclosure 6" deep (speakers are 5.15" deep) now

my question is, because im trying to make it as low as possible, is it ok to make the box only 6-7" deep, if the speaker depth is 5.15"?

these are 3 Audiobahn AW1251X speakers

the goal is to make the enclosure as low as possible do i need a certain space below the speaker, or no?

thanks.....

And then both of you guys w/ you sewing maching powered cars get passed by a moped w/ a 5hp Engine and he goes on to put 5 car lengths on you. Racing an EX vs a DX is like a 10 speed bike vs a golden retriever.

hahaha! Ok well I waited and waited... but its a general rule of thumb that you leave 3" of clearence from the bottom of the magnet to the box!

So if you build it right, you will use the spare tire well so you can keep the box lower while still maintaining the proper air space required. Its all math, have fun with it... lol!

You can fit as many as you want, so long as you are creative... I would say its possible, but you just need to use your head and tools ~ and have fun with the fiberglass
