I think it's the best NASCAR game for PS2 to date. There is no online game play, hopefully a newer version will. Possibly throw some sprint cars in. Penzoil World of Outlaws is also a great game.

I love DTD. So much fun, and i love the fact you get to race the weekly series, the grassroots of nascar.

I just found a good version from ebgames. They rock! anyway, I'm having trouble trying to win but I did put it on no stability/traction control and said I shouldn't, be it was too easy. Either way, this game is hard, I mean i'm up to the eagan speedbowl in weekly dirt and these video dicks didn't tell me how to setup the car or how to drive, he just said GOOD LUCK ROOKIE.......yeah thanks. So as the races continue, and currently 7th place overall, I just keep getting to be a worse driver and mechanic, this sucks. Shouldn't I be adjusting weight transfer and camber and all of that stuff?

The game is really fun but i'm clueless as to how to play. Oh yeah, I turned off the country music. that was the one thing I couldn't take.

Re: what about dirt to daytona?

dude i dnt even f with the setup, u have to buy parts to upgrade the car, u dnt start with a perfect car like the ea series does. go to the garage and part order books. with the wkly series, i make that my top priority, even if i'm able to get a modified going, wkly is ur base point of income, plus wen the car is perfect, it's easy money, short races, not many of them, and bonuses of like 45k, for like 10 races it's easy

um, starting over? that's ur decision, if ur not far into it, than go rite ahead, if ur thru more than one season, i think there mite be a way to just set wat u did to defaults.

I'd still prefer a guide help me play, it's not the challenge I crave from this game, it's the learning experience about Nascar, but I haven't learned much yet. I seriously never watched a NASCAR race fully in my life, so i don't know how everything goes down but i'm trying to learn now. Any ideas vector?

Re: what about dirt to daytona?

well if ur still running the weekly modifieds, wen u go to the next race, go to the setup, that way u can put the setting back to wat they were. the difficulty at that level is none of the tracks are the same, it could take a week just to get ur car to be a hundreth of a second quicker. also at that level, b/c it's more of a controlled drift race on dirt, power and aero is wat u need. trust me i sucked at first, once i got a better engine, i started winning. at the next levels and up to cup take it slowly, make small changes to ur car at a time. like math u dnt want to many x factors, it'll make it more difficult. this is something i've learned from other nascar games, never go after the money in the sponsership, go after wat u know u can do

Re: what about dirt to daytona?

Here's a weird question, should I play with a wheel and pedals or a controller?

Re: what about dirt to daytona?

i use the controller, mainly cause my wheel and pedals suk, but if ur good with a wheel and pedals use them, but if u use the controller with other racing games, use it, u'll be better with it

Re: what about dirt to daytona?

I DID IT! I won my first race at Kingsfield Raceway and I'm in second place for the championship...this is a hard game. I would have thought the weekly dirt would be easier, but it's only 'different' from the other series. Anyone else think so?

Edit, won Anoka also, and I'm up to the last race I believe. I have 681 points, the leader has 755, it's going to be tough getting the championship this time but it's not impossible!!!
